More Lost Than Found - Book Review

I received a complimentary copy of More Lost Than Found by Jared Herd from BookSneeze.
What a great read!  I was so impressed with Jared's viewpoint of why young people are leaving the church.
As a matter of fact, he nailed my opinions, too and I'm not in the "young" category!
We're leaving because church has become a machine that deep down in our hearts we know is not what Jesus created or desires.  We do want a relationship with God - one that is organic and unique as each one of us are.
I appreciate Jared's confirming that to have doubts is not wrong - actually it's a real relationship that questions and seeks answers.
I have highlighted so much in this book I plan on rereading to truly allow each portion to sink in.
Great for old and young alike to read!

One Big Thing

After reviewing One Big Thing, a complimentary book from Book Sneeze, I must say I wasn't impressed.  Yes, it has some great points within, but nothing new.  Unfortunately, no one can tell you what that one thing you should be about.  Much encouragement to find your passion, think of what you wanted to do as a youth, pursue dreams, etc is written, but overall I thought the book to be very vague.

As one who likes to have clear directive "to do" list there was nothing that gave me step by step directions as I seek to find that One Big Thing to do in my life.  I think making suggestions as to trying multiple vocations, volunteering positions, experiences would help you narrow down what you do and don't like.
I did enjoy that every chapter started with various quotes - some poignant and some funny.
Thankfully, it was a quick read; of course, skipping pages also helps.
